March 19,
Today has been the worst day of my life. Not only did I find out that father had to beat Tituba to make her confess to being a witch, but I have to move out of Salem and live with father's scary cousins. Fining out that father beat Tituba made me so angry at him I wanted to admit that the accusations weren't entirely truthful but then I realized what that would make me like. I also realized that the only reason he did all of that was for my benefit so I wouldn't be scared or threatened. That is also why I am leaving Salem. He doesn't want all of this witch hysteria to ruin my life for good. He just wants to protect me. I am sort of glad that I am leaving. Abby has been very controlling lately and I want to get away from her for a little. She is starting to let all of the attention make her into a different person. I am excited to get away from all of the drama and controversy surrounding me.

March 1,
Today was Tituba's trial. I did my best to follow Abby's lead but I almost broke a few times. It nearly killed me to do this to poor Tituba. I wish I didn't have to do it but I can't let my reputation be ruined. During her trial Tituba confessed to being a witch in front of everyone and I did everything that I could to not cry. Abby starred at me with a mean yet encouraging look in her eyes. During a break in the trial Abby pulled me outside and scolded me for acting weak and I told her I couldn't do it anymore. She looked at me furiously and explained that Tituba could actually be a witch, and she cursed us and that our experiment didn't actually do anything. I cried. I would never believe Tituba was really a witch I trusted her too much. Tituba only did things to better the world why did it have to be her? Abby then calmed me down and we went back into the courtroom where the trial continued. Tituba went on to say that she only loved me and never meant to cause me any harm, which made me want to cry even more. Tituba was found guilty, along with the two other women that were being tried. On the way home from the courthouse Abby proceeded to say that today was a success. I cried for the rest of the night with no interruption.

February 29,
For the past month I have been living with the devil inside of me. I honestly don't feel that different but Abby and I are finally getting noticed. I still forget to do chores sometimes and I still feel the pinches but mother and father don't mind because I'm 'afflicted'. This morning Abby and I and some of the other girls accused Tituba and two other ladies of witchcraft. I cried after because of how it made me feel. I love Tituba so much but Abby said it was the only way we could avoid getting in trouble for our experiments. Tituba's face when it was over broke my heart. I have always loved and appreciated her but if Abby and I get in trouble our families would have to leave Salem and we would be banished forever. I can't do that to father, he is so happy here in Salem as the priest. I don' know how much longer this is going to go on but I don't think I can keep it up. Abby on the other hand is letting the 'fame' get to her head. She loves being the center of attention more than anything. I'm starting to get worried, especially because both of us are still feeling the symptoms. The fainting is less frequent but it still happens. Abby says we will be fine but I'm not sure that we will. Hopefully this is all over really soon so everything can go back to normal.

Recently Father has been very stressed, the town is starting to hate him. He is a very strict pastor so people sometimes disagree with him. I'm sure what happened today didn't help his stress levels at all. I didn't really feel any different but this morning I forgot to feed the chickens, which never happens. Then after that I forgot to wash mother's dresses and father's robes. I haven't forgotten a chore since the time I got fatally sick three years ago. Around 9 a.m. I started to feel something pinching me in my lower back and thighs. My head started to hurt so I sat down and rested for a little. I was awaken by Abby breaking through the front door and slamming it behind her. She shook me even though I was already awake, and I could tell she was worried about something. She started talking but I couldn't hear the words coming out of her mouth. The next thing I remember is waking up on the ground staring straight up at Father, Mother, Mr. Phipps, and the town doctor. Father looked horribly worried and Mother was crying. Mr. Phipps was talking to the doctor but I couldn't hear him. Then I saw the doctor whisper something in Mr. Phipps' ear and Mr. Phipps repeated loudly to the whole room "Under the evil hand".

Earlier this month while dusting the bookshelf I noticed a very old, wrinkly, tethered book. I was titled, The Art of Telling Fortunes. I had never heard of the art of telling fortunes except for when Tituba would read peoples palms. So I took the book off the shelf and took it over to Abby's house, where the Circle was meeting, because one of them was bound to know about it. None of them had ever heard of it either but Abby said that we should sneak out one night and learn how to tell our fortunes. The next night we met deep in the woods behind my house and tried to see our futures. We used a venus glass to see what our husbands would be like and what our social status would be. We didn't see anything helpful except one time we saw a coffin so we decided to stop trying. Nothing happened except later that week I started feeling a little weird and when I told Abby about it she said she was feeling the same way. Abby says it will all be worth it when we see our futures. Abby really wants people to know who she is, we really just want to be famous. We want all the other girls in town to think that we are the coolest and prettiest girls. Jealousy is the ugliest trait, and everyone is jealous of us.
